Meet the SEND Team
SENDCO |
Mr Billy Marchant Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead |
Hello, I’m Mr BIlly Marchant and I’m the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (the SENDCo) here at St Margaret’s Primary School.
Our Headteacher, Mrs Hine, has worked as a SENDCo previously, and is committed to inclusion and raising outcomes for children with SEN (Special Educational Needs).
Does my child have SEN?
- A child or young person has SEN if they have a learning difficulty or disability, which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her.
- A child or a young person has a learning difficulty or disability if he or she has a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age.
There are two categories of SEN:
- SEN Support and EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).
- Most children with SEN are categorised as SEN Support, and will get the support they need in school.
Our Specialist Support Centre (SSC)
We have additional facilities for 8 children with an EHCP with Physical Disabilities.
All of our children with SSC places are fully integrated into the mainstream classrooms.
We offer additional physio and fine-motor interventions in school, as well as fully accessible grounds for those with mobility needs.
Contact
All staff at St Margaret’s CE Primary School have responsibility for children with SEN, and your child’s class teacher is your primary contact for your child with SEN. You can contact your class teacher by speaking with them on the playground at the end of the school day, via the school office, or Seesaw. (Please contact the school office for support with Seesaw.)
In addition to that, please feel free to call me on 01293 521 077 (option 4). Please note that there is a voice mail system if I am unable to take your call.
